Flute Reed River Kayaking

Flute Reed River, MN

Another smaller river on the North Shore that is only flowing in the spring is the Flute Reed River. It is considered a difficult – Class III-IV stretch of whitewater according to American Whitewater, with a 600 foot drop from beginning to end. The run is the Cty Rd 69 to Lake Superior section of Flute Reed River in Minnesota and is 1 miles long . The nature scenery of Cook County and the water flowing gracefully down Flute Reed River make the trip here worthwhile. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn’t matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that.
