Cross River – Waterfalls

temperance river, mn

Cross River Falls is on Minnesota’s North Shore just before the Temperance River State Park if driving Hwy 61 from the south. The first set of falls are up along the Superior hiking Trail, but there is also a big one that is part of a wayside park.

The Waterfalls

The first are the ones that are along the Superior Hiking trail and can be reached by hiking about 2 miles up stream. Where the river runs down to the lake there are a number of beautiful sections where the water drops. The second shown on the Temperance River State Park map goes right under the bridge of Hwy 61 that rises over the cross river.

Fishing

The Cross River has Brook trout and Rainbow trout.
