Glen Avon Falls

Glen Avon Falls

Beaver Bay, MN

Further up the Beaver River you will find a wide run of white water falls called the Glen Avon Falls. These falls require a bit of hiking to be seen, but are worth it. You will see adventurous kayakers working the area and will want to spend a morning or afternoon here exploring. Small pools at various times of the season provide wading pools that will heat up in the summer sun.

Take Lax Lake Road up to County Road 3 and take a left. Follow 3 for about a mile and a quarter, until the trees on the right end and you see a dirt road on the left heading toward the river. This is not an easy place to find and is not marked, and the road that drops down can be muddy and difficult to exit with the wrong vehicle if it has been raining. If you are a Kayaker you will want to keep going to the Put-In point located by using the link below.

If you are a kayaker, this is a Difficult Run! Check out this page will give you the information you need to run this river section, including Put-In and Take-Out Points.
