Keweenaw Brewing Co.

408 Shelden Avenue, Houghton, MI 49931

Keweenaw Brewing Company is the hops-induced vision of Dick Gray and Paul Boissevain. Dick, a Michigan Tech graduate was looking for a way to return to the Copper Country. Paul, meanwhile, was introduced to – and seduced by – the crystal clear waters of nearby Lake Superior, the beauty of the surrounding area, and the small-town charm of Houghton, Michigan. The two men, whose passion for beer runs as deep as Superior, are the driving force behind Keweenaw Brewing Company.

The “KBC”, as it’s referred to by the locals, is a microbrewery, as such, no food is served. As a microbrewery, they sell their beer wholesale and in their taproom. The KBC taproom is located in the center of historic downtown Houghton. Its rustic barn-wood interior welcomes all with cozy, homey comfort. A large fireplace area, outfitted with couches and footrests, completes the inviting scene. For the truly obsessed, the fragrance of hops, the heat from the kettle of our 16 bbl brewing system, offer further reasons to venture this far north for a visit.
