Stoney Point

Stoney Point

Stoney Point, MN

A scenic loop off Scenic 61 along Lake Superior. About 15 miles NE of Duluth. A great place to wave watch here in stormy weather, have a picnic and shoreline fish. Lake Trout fishing off of Stoney Point can be good in the early spring. As the season progresses the fish move off the point into deeper water.

Water Clarity Note – Uncommon, this day the rains in the hills washed quite a bit of clay into the lake and for most of the day kept the water dark near the shore.
